After a long and courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer, Laurie Anne Johnson passed away Oct. 26, 2012, at the Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene. Laurie was born in Covina, Calif., the third daughter of Harry and Helen W. Swett.

Shortly after her birth, the family relocated to Claremont, Calif., where Laurie remained until her high school graduation in 1973. Laurie attended U.C.L.A. in Westwood, Calif., and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. After graduation she married Robert Peach, gave birth to their son Brady, and worked for Continental Airlines until she was furloughed.

During this time of unemployment she got divorced, attended Court Reporting School, and several years later met and married her husband Bradley R. Johnson, and moved to Arizona. Laurie and Brad relocated to Coeur d’Alene in 2004, and for the last five years she worked at the Kootenai County Courthouse as a Court Reporter for Judge Lansing Haynes. Laurie was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and a friend to many.

Laurie is survived by her husband, Brad of their home in Dalton Gardens; her son, Brady of Solana Beach, Calif.; her stepson, Jeremiah Johnson of Minnesota; two sisters, Randy and her husband Bruce of Dalton Gardens, and Janet and her husband Ken of San Ramon, Calif. Other survivors include a granddaughter, two nephews, one niece and two great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. today, Nov. 10, 2012, at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene.

In lieu of flowers, Laurie preferred that donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, to aid in the research for the cure of Pancreatic Cancer. Information can be found at www.pancan.org.
