Northwest Sacred Music Chorale announces 2012-2013 season

The Northwest Sacred Music Chorale is excited to announce for the 2012-2013 season. This season's theme, Seasonal Music for the Soul, is inspired by the beloved Byrds hit single, "Turn! Turn! Turn!," and especially its complete title, "To Everything there is a Season," taken from the Book of Ecclesiastes.
"Our lives are structured around the times and seasons of the year, and the chorale season captures this truth with three distinct themes for the Fall, Christmas and Spring Concerts," according to a press release.
The Fall Concert theme, Saints and Souls, is based on two autumnal feasts on the liturgical calendar: All Saints' Day (Nov. 1), and All Souls' Day (Nov. 2).
The concert features music for these occasions, ranging from classic arrangements (Ralph Vaughan Williams' "For all the Saints"), to rousing spirituals (Moses Hogan's "Elijah Rock"), to the major work for the concert, Gabriel Faure's lush and imaginative setting of the Requiem, featuring powerful baritone soloist Randel Wagner, a pure soprano soloist, Young Artist Competition Winner, Madison Mataban, with select chamber orchestra.
NWSMC has been promoting quality choral from its inception in 2000.
The Northwest Sacred Music Chorale is a nonprofit comprised of 70 members from the inland Northwest under the direction of Mary Sims Johnson, Conductor. The Chorale also provides scholarships each year for two young artists.
