SOLITUDE

The cool of a mountain stream, flowing

'Neath shadows of stately fir trees, also

Golden glory of aspen groves rustling

And fluttering by yet tranquil breezes,

Carries a message of hushed benevolence.

Roll out your sugan-rustle wood for a fire

To warm the bean pot. Hustle to the

Few chores before nature's dark- 'tween

Sun down and moon rising. Extra wood

Gathered will hasten early morning

Campfire brewed coffee aroma. The

Spattering of frying bacon makes for

Belly growling scents. A day of unequaled

Searching and viewing await an appreciating

Nature visitor. An overhead jet's boom,

Only non-nature overtone. Checkerboard

Blacktop jungle of civilized man's abode

Pushed aside by natures panoramic

Breathtaking, mind clearing main feature.

Bet on this offering compared to man's

Greatest accomplishments and for

Sure you've picked a winner!

TATTOO ROSIE

Hey Rosie, life just

Ain't right no more,

With the world acting like

A coke-house whore.

Tell you what, Rose,

All of us get old.

But the crimes of time

Could never be foretold.

Life on the street

Was dying to survive.

Death was just a

Way of staying alive.

I heard you departed,

Or so I was told.

I hope life is good

With tattoos in gold.

Remember Worm-

He paid the final cost.

Daring death, he

Bet his life and lost.

He danced the chicken

With a junkie's joy.

Hell, no one cared-

Just another dead boy.

Anyway Rosie,

The world isn't right.

It's ugly and bent

In a constant fight.

Death by death-

Ain't no one got it made.

Rest in peace, Rose;

Your debt has been paid.
