Hunting

Waterfowl have been moving into the North central Washington Area for several weeks now. Our Duck Taxi Guide's have been seeing a very positive explosion on new Pintail numbers in the sand dunes on Potholes Reservoir. Teal have been in and out of the dunes in groups of ten to fifty and Royal Lake on the Columbia National Wildlife Refuge has been hosting thousands of mallards. The public hunting areas on the Winchester and Frenchman Wasteway's are holding good duck numbers as well. One group of freelance hunters spoke of duck limits for their group of five. They put in on Winchester Wasteway off Dodson Road at the public access and floated to the C road take out point. They did indicate that hunting pressure in this area was very light the day there were out enjoying their day.

Fishing

Roy Frasier, MarDon Guest, reported perch limits from the Medicare Beach area while boat fishing in 20' to 38' of water.

Our walleye bite continues to be slow for boaters and dock fishers. With unseasonably warm weather we can only expect an improved bite with colder water temperatures and a higher water level. Don't forget blade baits and swim jigs produce amazing late fall and winter walleye.

Afternoon bass action in Crab Creek using Spinnerbaits, Flippin-Jigs, Yamamoto Senkos, and Rapala Shad Raps have been great!
