The men's basketball game between No. 10 Florida and Georgetown on the deck of a ship was called off at halftime Friday night because the court became too wet.

Florida led 27-23 at the break in the Navy-Marine Corps Classic at Jacksonville, Fla., when the game aboard the USS Bataan was stopped by the court condensation.

Earlier in the evening, the men's game between No. 4 Ohio State and Marquette on the USS Yorktown in South Carolina was canceled before it began for the same reason.

Also, the season-opening basketball game between No. 9 Syracuse and No. 20 San Diego State on the flight deck of the decommissioned aircraft carrier USS Midway was moved to Sunday afternoon due to a strong chance of rain and wind in San Diego.

No. 1 Indiana 97, Bryant 54: At Bloomington, Ind., Cody Zeller had 18 points and 10 rebounds, leading Indiana to a rout of Bryant in the season opener.

No. 3 Kentucky 72, Maryland 69: At New York, Jarrod Polson made the clinching free throws with 7.7 seconds to play as Kentucky held off Maryland.

No. 5 Michigan 100, Slippery Rock 62: At Ann Arbor, Mich., Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 25 points, leading Michigan past Slippery Rock.

No. 6 North Carolina State 97, Miami (Ohio) 59: At Raleigh, N.C., Richard Howell had 16 points and 10 rebounds to help North Carolina State beat Miami (Ohio).

No. 7 Kansas 74, Southeast Missouri State 55: At Lawrence, Kan., Ben McLemore had nine points, 12 rebounds and five assists in his Kansas debut, and the Jayhawks beat the Redhawks.

No. 8 Duke 74, Georgia State 55: At Durham, N.C., Mason Plumlee had 19 points and 14 rebounds to lead Duke past Georgia State.

No. 11 North Carolina 76, Gardner-Webb 59: At Chapel Hill, N.C., James Michael McAdoo had 26 points and 14 rebounds to help North Carolina beat Gardner-Webb.

No. 13 UCLA 86, Indiana State 59: At Los Angeles, Jordan Adams scored 21 points in his college debut and UCLA defeated Indiana State in its season opener shortly after finding out star recruit Shabazz Muhammad was ruled ineligible by the NCAA.

The long-awaited decision about Muhammad overshadowed the first game in new Pauley Pavilion, which opened after an 18-month, $132 million renovation. He watched the game from the bench dressed in a blue UCLA sweat suit along with a crowd of 13,513 - 287 short of a sellout.

Shortly before the game, UCLA athletic director Dan Guerrero said the NCAA had ruled Muhammad ineligible for violating amateurism rules. The NCAA gave no timetable for Muhammad's ineligibility and Guerrero said only that he is "ineligible at this time."

He said the school will pursue its options to challenge the ruling.

The NCAA said that Muhammad accepted travel and lodging during three unofficial visits to two NCAA member schools. He chose UCLA over Kentucky and Duke last spring.

Connecticut 66, No. 14 Michigan State 62: At Ramstein Air Base, Germany, Shabazz Napier scored 25 points and Connecticut beat the Spartans in the Armed Forces Classic.

No. 16 Creighton 71, North Texas 51: At Lincoln, Neb., Doug McDermott had 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead Creighton past North Texas.

No. 19 Baylor 99, Lehigh 77: At Waco, Texas, Corey Jefferson had 26 points and Baylor beat Lehigh.

South Alabama 76, No. 25 Florida State 71: At Tallahassee, Fla., Antoine Allen scored 21 points to lead South Alabama past the Seminoles.
