MOSCOW - University of Idaho men's basketball suffered a loss in a home opener for the first time under head coach Don Verlin in an 80-70 setback against Wright State at Memorial Gym on Friday night.
Idaho committed 13 turnovers, missed 10 free throws and couldn't get the defensive stops it needed against the Raiders.
"Basically, they beat us in every phase of the game tonight," Verlin said. "They pressured us out of our offensive sets, we turned it over in the first half for easy baskets, gave them a lead and then just couldn't ever climb back into it."
Kyle Barone led Idaho with 18 points and nine rebounds on 7-of-8 shooting, while Mansa Habeeb added 14 points, five rebounds and two assists. Former Post Falls High standout Connor Hill scored eight points.
The Vandals host Montana next Saturday.
