VETERANS: School brightens day

Nine members of Fort Sherman Chapter No. 9 had the delightful privilege to attend Prairie View’s patriotic assembly. Disabled American Veterans members have all been wounded, gassed or injured in time of war. We’d like to express to all the students and teachers our heartfelt thanks for warmly welcoming us, and thanks to teacher Nancy Strom for the fine performance.

To a person, we were thoroughly impressed with the enthusiasm displayed by the singers. All of the students were a delight to watch as they entered and left. Their behavior during the assembly was exemplary.

As former members of the armed forces where discipline is required, it was most interesting to see the children as they went about their school day. We all remarked on how impressive the children were. It is obvious that the school staff is all on one page and those behavior standards are routinely instilled and upheld by all in a manner that reflects well on the school family.

Everyone connected with Prairie View Elementary can be proud of his or her school. We are proud to have had the opportunity to share a Veterans Day celebration with you.

ROBERT B. HUNT, QMC, USN (Ret.)

Chapter Adjutant, Past Dept. of Idaho Commander
