Marge Schrade is the unofficial leader of the Kitchen Band, which entertains throughout the Flathead Valley at assisted living centers and nursing homes. The band is sponsored by Retired & Senior Volunteer Program, a United Way Member Agency.

The 2011 Salvation Army Kettle Drive produced a total of $10,776.48. This amount was $4,700 more than was collected in 2010 with 90 percent of the funds raised staying in Lake County.

Hundreds of school supplies as well as some financial aid was raised by the program that began with employees of the Mineral Community Hospital.
