Avalanche web site ready by Nov. 16
Hungry Horse News | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 12 years, 4 months AGO
The Flathead National Forest is expected to have its new avalanche center web site up and running on Friday, Nov. 16.
The website will launch with basic information, but will evolve to be responsive to the public’s needs, the Forest said last week. In addition to a new web site, there is also a center Twitter feed which people can follow to receive immediate updates and notifications. The center will begin issuing advisories on Dec. 8 unless there is not enough snow or conditions dictate a need to start earlier.
The Flathead Avalanche Center web address is http://www.flatheadavalanche.org/, and viewers can follow the center’s FAC Twitter feed at https://twitter.com/FACAvalanche. For additional information please contact FAC coordinator Tony Willits at 837-7546.
