Free Thanksgiving dinners will be served around the Flathead Valley thanks to the efforts of a host of volunteers and donors.  

Sykes’ is hosting its annual community Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings on Thanksgiving Day. Serving will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend the free event.

The tradition was started decades ago by former owners Doug and Judy Wise and draws all ages together to enjoy a meal and fellowship. Donations will be accepted.

Sykes’ is located at 202 Second Ave. W. in Kalispell.

For those unable to come to the restaurant, dinner will be delivered. Call 257-4306 by 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, to schedule a delivery.

The Pocketstone Cafe in Bigfork will host its third annual Community Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving Day. Free to all who come, the Pocketstone welcomes those who cannot or would prefer not to celebrate Thanksgiving on their own.

The menu includes soup, turkey, dressing, potatoes, yams, green beans and dessert.

All food preparation, serving and cleanup is done by volunteers and the food is donated by the cafe and its suppliers.

For those who are able and choose to contribute, a donation jar will be available. All contributions will be given to the Bigfork Food Pantry to kick off its Christmas season.

The meal is free and all are welcome, but those who wish to attend are asked to call 837-7223 for reservations, since seating is limited.

Seatings are available at 11 a.m., 12:15 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. If space is available, walk-ins will be accommodated.

The Pocketstone Cafe is located at 444 Electric Ave. in Bigfork.

The ninth Annual Ronan Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thanksgiving Day at the Ronan Community Center.

The event annually draws several hundred residents and includes a traditional Thanksgiving feast and entertainment.

Local cook Marie Cowan, formerly of the Ronan Cafe, kicked off the tradition nine years ago. Over the years the event has grown and a larger space was needed to accommodate everyone.

The free, traditional Thanksgiving dinner is made possible by a host of donors and volunteers.

Donations will be accepted at the door.
