EPHRATA - A Moses Lake woman helped steal a man's car after he added her as a Facebook friend.

Kayla Gaskill, 21, pleaded guilty to theft of a motor vehicle in Grant County Superior Court, according to court records.

Prosecutors initially charged her with second-degree robbery, according to court records. The charge was lessened as part of a plea agreement.

Gaskill has no prior felony convictions, according to court records. She faces a sentencing range of zero to 90 days in jail.

Grant County Superior Court Judge Evan Sperline followed the prosecutor's recommendation, sentencing Gaskill to 34 days in jail.

The victim added Gaskill as a friend on Facebook about two days before the alleged August incident, according to a Moses Lake police report. The victim agreed to give Gaskill a ride from the Moses Lake Home Depot. After he arrived, she called and told him she wanted him to meet her and a friend near baseball fields.

Gaskill and Jonathan L. Randall, 32, of Soap Lake, met him and got into the car, according to the police report. Randall reportedly told the man he needed to stop at a friend's house to get something. When they arrived at the house, Randall got out of the car and knocked on the door. When no one answered, Randall came back to the car and asked to use the victim's cellphone.

After the victim exited the car and handed Randall the cellphone, Randall reportedly started dialing a number before throwing the victim onto the ground, according to the police report. Gaskill had moved to the driver's side, and Randall reportedly got into the back as she drove away, according to the police report.

The victim reportedly grabbed the top of the car, and was dragged a short distance before letting go and tumbling in the street, according to the police report. He walked to a nearby gas station to contact police.

Randall remains charged with second-degree robbery in Grant County Superior Court, according to court records.
