ANAHEIM - The Port of Quincy and Rail Logistics-Cold Train teamed up to exhibit their service and facility at the Produce Marketing Association (PMA) Fresh Summit Convention and Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center on Oct. 27-29.

The PMA Fresh Summit is the largest trade show and exposition in the world for the produce industry. It attracts nearly 1,200 exhibitors and more than 19,000 attendees from 50 countries.

Many of the attendees are key produce industry decision makers, buyers, site selectors and supply chain representatives. Numerous produce shippers, receivers and site selectors, as well as prospective new customers, visited the Cold Train-Port of Quincy booth.

The Port of Quincy explained why it is a premier location for produce packing, shipping and distribution. Cold Train promoted its recently expanded Quincy-based fleet of refrigerated containers and new destinations on the East Coast to which it has begun providing service.

Rail Logistics launched the Cold Train Express Refrigerated Intermodal Service in partnership with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway and the Port of Quincy in 2010. It has grown rapidly in popularity with shippers in Washington and the Midwest and East Coast. Shipments of Pacific Northwest fresh produce and frozen foods and vegetables on the Cold Train continue to grow at a fast pace.

The Port of Quincy is ranked as one of the top low-cost rural locations in the United States for business and economic development with a full array of infrastructure including an abundant supply of irrigation water and low-cost hydropower electricity.
