In loving memory of Carole Anne Blake, passed away Nov. 11, 2012, after a courageous battle due to cancer. She was born May 23, 1943, in Winona, Minn., to Warren and June (Boller) Ulberg. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School.

In 1956, the Ulberg family moved to San Fernando Valley, Calif. She went to school at Shirley Avenue Sutter Jr. High School. She graduated from Cleveland High School in 1964.

She worked in the aerospace industry for Litton and Hughes Aircraft.

Carole married Charles Blake on March 15, 1973.

Chuck and Carole relocated to Tucson, Ariz., with her employer Raytheon. She was employed as an analytical engineer. While in Tucson she obtained a B.A. in business.

Prior to settling in Coeur d’Alene in 2005 to be close family Carole, Chuck and Scooter spent many years traveling in their RV. Her favorite place was the Oregon coast.

Carole was a wonderful cook. She spent numerous hours volunteering at Lake City High School fundraising for football and baseball. You could always find her selling souvenirs on a Friday night at the football games.

She loved animals and was a member of the Kootenai Humane Society.

Carole is survived by her husband of 40 years, Charles Blake of Coeur d’Alene; sister Nancy (Ulberg) and husband Steve Dechellis, and nephews, Steven and Michael, all of Coeur d’Alene; brother Robert and wife Denise Ulberg, nephews, Robert (Robert, Justin), Anthony and Tyler, and nieces, Rita and Nellie, all of Acton, Calif.

A celebration of Carole’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at St. Pius Catholic Church, 625 E. Haycraft, Coeur d’Alene.
