NIC BASKETBALL: Hope helps Cardinal men triumph over Columbia Basin

COEUR d'ALENE - Mikey Hope made 7 of 10 shots from the field and scored a game-high 20 points to lead 23rd-ranked North Idaho College past the Columbia Basin Hawks of Pasco, Wash., 87-52 in a nonconference game Tuesday night at Rolly Williams Court.
"Mikey really knows how to score," NIC coach Jared Phay said. "He's a really crafty guard."
Chris Sarbaugh had 10 assists and Kaj Sherman had 13 points and five rebounds for NIC (7-1), which hosts the Gonzaga club team next Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
"Chris was really setting Mikey up and making him look good too," Phay said. "I was really happy with how we played tonight. Everyone scored and contributed and I thought our defensive effort was good."
