Hockaday Museum free to everyone on Nov. 23-24

The Hockaday Museum of Art is opening its doors with free admission on Nov. 23-24, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day as a thank you to the community for continued support.
Visitors are invited to view the current exhibitions, which include the “2012 Members Salon” featuring over 120 participating artist members showing recent work. Many media types and styles are represented in the popular annual exhibit with many pieces available for sale.
“Montana Landscape through the Seasons” spotlights the tonalist painting effects of Russell Chatham and the “Crown of the Continent Permanent Exhibition” focuses on the art and artists of Glacier National Park.
Visitors are encouraged to cast a vote for their favorite work in the annual People’s Choice Awards.
Champagne tasting will be sponsored by Intermountain Distributing. Complimentary gift bags valued $12 at each will be available while supplies last, and a free docent-led gallery tour will be held Nov. 24, at 10:30 a.m.
The Hockaday Museum of Art is located in the cultural district of downtown Kalispell at 302 Second Ave East. It is housed in a 1904 Carnegie Library building that appears on the National Register of Historic Places. The Museum is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, open year-round, Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A wheelchair accessible entry and elevator are provided.
