Richard Lee Haer, 78, longtime Moses Lake resident passed away Thursday November 15, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. Richard was born in Massillon, Ohio on April 5 1934 to the late John C. and Leona Haer. Richard joined the Air Force in 1952, while stationed at Larson Air Force Base in Moses Lake, he met and married Lila Goehring on August 22, 1954. While in the Air Force, they were stationed at various places, including Germany and France where their youngest daughter was born. Together with their four children they moved back to Moses Lake where he retired from the Air Force in 1972 as a Staff Sgt. Later in 1972, Richard opened and operated H&H Security for 20 years, when he then fully retired in 1992. Richard enjoyed fishing in his younger years and then later enjoyed playing the slots at various casinos and spending time with his grandchildren.

Richard is survived by his two sons Robert and James and two daughters Carol and Debbie (Scott) Weech, all of Moses Lake. Three grandchildren Kayla, Paige and Justin, two great-grandchildren Jude and Autumn, numerous nieces and nephews, one adopted grandson Owen from Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his wife Lila, his parents, one brother Edward and one sister Roberta.

A private family celebration will be held at a later date.
