Under new ownership since August, Selkirk Northern Treasures continues to support local artists and vendors.
Formerly known as Northern Treasures, new owner Cassandra Rutherford-Eckberg changed the name because “the Selkirks are a part of us.”
“I was a vendor for over three years and rather than see everyone out of business, I took it over as a hobby,” said Rutherford-Eckberg.
Selkirk Northern Treasures showcases items from more than 45 vendors and consignees, with the majority of the vendors being local.
Items include unique antiques, repurposed furniture, collectibles, artwork and more.
“I’m a big supporter of local,” said Rutherford-Eckberg.
One change Rutherford-Eckberg is excited about is having a florist of artificial flowers in the store.
They will be having an open house on Dec. 1 with music, refreshments and treats.
Selkirk Northern Treasures is located at 7202 Main Street, next to McCoy’s Home Interiors.
