Hazel Vivian Hill, 89, passed away Nov. 25, 2012, in Coeur d’Alene.
Hazel was born in Willow Springs, Mo., on Feb. 23, 1923, to John R. and Mamie E (Hedlund) Coulter. She graduated from Willow Springs High School in 1942. In 1943 she moved to Wallace where she married Clayton J. Hill on April 10, 1943. Clayton and Hazel then moved to Oregon in 1950 and after one year they moved to Spokane where they raised their family and resided for 50 years. Hazel has spent the last 5 1/2 years at the 4 Seasons in Coeur d’Alene.
Hazel loved gardening, crocheting and helping others.
She is survived by her two children: daughters, Terry and husband Bill Holton of Dalton Gardens, and Susan and husband Bill Sweeney of Vermillion, S.D.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Hazel is preceded in death by her husband, Clayton J. Hill; parents, John R. and Mamie E. Coulter; brothers, Henry Coulter and Harry Coulter; sisters, Mable Castel and Alice Schupp; and nephews, Steve McGee and Dale McGee.

Memorial graveside service will be held in the summer of 2013 at Greenwood Memorial Terrace in Spokane. English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d’Alene, is in charge of the arrangements.
