Accident near Marion leaves three hurt

The Marion Fire Department and Montana Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 2 at Rustic Road near Marion late Wednesday morning. Both vehicles were westbound on U.S. 2 when the vehicle in front attempted to make a left turn onto Rustic Road.
The second vehicle sideswiped the first while attempting to pass. Three people sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the collision and were transported to the Kalispell Regional Medical Center. ALERT was also dispatched to the scene but was not needed.
The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received multiple reports of people being threatened across the valley.
On Wintercrest Drive, a resident reported an “extreme pothead” man in his 50s threatened to come over and “kick his butt.” The resident said he was afraid the man would kill him, and told dispatch that he would not call police, but take care of the man himself if he tried to make good on his threat. The dispatcher told him that was not a good idea.
On Caroline Road, a man was reported threatening to break another man’s jaw.
On First Street in Kila, a continually loose dog led to a call to the sheriff’s office after the dog’s owner allegedly threatened to shoot a man who complained about the issue.
A man upset with the speed of deputies chewed out a dispatcher for them not arriving quicker after he reported a chainsaw stolen.
A man was arrested on Shady Lane for partner or family member assault after attacking his stepdaughter and trying to break her mother’s car.
A 14-year-old girl was arrested after being caught stealing socks, a Christmas ornament and a toy.
A man was arrested after his landlord saw him throw his wife on the ground on Batavia Lane.
A car was stolen on Four Wheel Drive in Whitefish.
The Kalispell Police Department received reports on Tuesday and Wednesday of pedestrians struck by vehicles.
A pedestrian reported that a woman, possibly drunk, hit her with a truck at a gas station Tuesday on U.S. 93 South and then left the scene.
A man reported another man hit him with a vehicle Wednesday on First Avenue East North. The motorist then stopped, got out of his vehicle, cussed at the pedestrian, got back in his vehicle and left.
A man was arrested for drunk driving and on an active warrant during a traffic stop on U.S. 93 South.
A woman was arrested for possession of drugs and obstructing justice during a traffic stop on First Avenue West.
A 14-year-old boy was arrested for assaulting another 14-year-old boy at a school on Northwest Lane.
A group of two men and two women were reported behaving badly in the park on Parkway Drive, with one of the men urinating in someone’s yard.
The Whitefish Police Department received a report of an early-20s man screaming and cussing at the attendant of the front desk at a Spokane Avenue hotel after the attendant refused to give him back his deposit for the room because the room was trashed and smelled like marijuana and that the screen had been pushed out of the window.
A drunk driver was apprehended on East Lakeshore Drive and transported to North Valley Hospital.
A purse was stolen from an employee of a Hospital Way business.
Drugs were reported stolen on Flathead Avenue.
Two sharp residents contacted the Columbia Falls Police Department after one found a syringe in the road on Seventh Street East and another found needles in the playground area of a park on Seventh Street West.
A woman reported someone shot and broke a window on her vehicle while her two children were in the back seat. She was southbound on Columbia Avenue at the time, and said that the shot came from the west side of the road.
Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputies located a person in possession of drugs at the Lake County Detention Center.
The Polson Police Department located a drunk pedestrian while investigating a report of suspicious behavior on Second Street West.
