MOSES LAKE - Moses Lake School District officials are holding the second of four meetings to address overcrowding at the middle schools and high school Thursday
The meeting stars at 6:30 p.m. in the choir room at Moses Lake High School.
Officials are asking participants three questions, the same questions asked of participants at the first meeting in September, according to the district. Officials want to know what people think the most important attributes of a quality secondary education are, the skills and knowledge needed for college and career readiness and how the school district can deliver the education necessary with the current facilities.
The goal of district officials is to come out of the four meetings with some suggestions for the Moses Lake School Board to address overcrowding at Moses Lake High School, Frontier Middle School and Chief Moses Middle School, according to the district.
The high school is designed to hold about 1,700 students has about 2,200, Superintendent Michelle Price said in earlier school board meetings. The middle schools are slightly over capacity, she said.
The school board will be asked to approve some solutions for overcrowding in April 2013. The new rules will go into effect for the 2013-14 school year.
