The following Flathead County boards have openings with terms beginning Jan. 1 and ending Dec. 31 with various term limits.

Anyone interested in serving on any of these boards can submit a letter of interest with relevant information to the Flathead County Board of Commissioners, 800 South Main, Room 302, Kalispell MT 59901 by Friday, Nov. 16, at 5 p.m. For further information call (406)758-5537.

A bill requiring the state to electronically verify that all foreign nationals are in the U.S. legally before issuing a Montana driver’s license or ID card was signed into law by Gov. Brian Schweitzer on April 18.

Uphill skiers need to be aware of avalanches on Big Mtn.

Whitefish Mountain Resort’s post-season uphill policy expired last week, but with significant snowfall and changing weather conditions, the resort reminds skier and hikers that avalanche hazards in the ski area’s permitted boundaries do exist.
