MOSES LAKE - Sadie Nielsen had 17 kills, Kenzie Fancher dished out 26 assists, and libero Taylor Sonnenberg finished with 13 digs to help lead Moses Lake to a three set (25-11, 25-17, 25-14) home win over the Pirates last night.

"The girls played well tonight," coach Amy Utter said. "We used three different lineups in the three sets and it gave Davis a different look each time."

Utter said the team is trying to focus on areas they need to improve on so that is why shed decided to mix it up a bit.

"We are trying to run a faster offense and have our hitters do different things," she said. "It didn't work out as consistently as I would've liked, but we stayed true to what we were doing."

The match against the Pirates was never in doubt as Moses Lake had its way with Davis in each set.

"They are a much improved team and play scrappy," Utter said. "They kind of got us out of sync at times because they weren't necessarily playing textbook volleyball, but we were able to stay focused and play our game."

The win over Davis improves the Chiefs to 4-1 in the CBBN. Moses Lake is back in action tomorrow night when the team hosts Sunnyside.

"We are starting the second half of league play on Thursday," Utter said. "So this match will be give us a chance to see where we are at the second time through."
