Writers Corner October 5, 2012

MAN ALIVE - I'M 95!

I have a feeling that shortly

a day will soon arrive

when without warning

I'll be a ripe ol' 95.

I've tried many times over

all of those marvelous years

To be fair and square to others

Tho many times it meant tears. So now I sit and wonder As I view those many days How much more could have been accomplished If I had just changed my ways. Too late for regrets now Cause it's great to be alive.

For I'm really quite happy that I've reached 95!

- Darrell I. "Burr" Burrell, Coeur d'Alene

Editor's note: Written for his 95th birthday on Sept. 29
