Kootenai Pets for Life volunteers are busy getting ready for the the group’s 11th annual Bow Wow Bash, which is this Saturday.

This is a yearly major fundraiser and fun for all.

This year’s event will be Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Libby VFW Club.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. so everyone can look at all the items available and start signing up for the silent auction items.

Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. and following that is the live auction, door prize and 50/50.

Through the generous  donations from businesses and individuals from Libby, Troy and Kalispell, more than 150 items will be available.

Tickets are available from KPFL volunteers or by calling 293-6801.

Tickets are $15 for one or $25 for two.

The KPFL Shelter is an all volunteer, non-profit Shelter.

The organization was started in 2001 by a group of concerned citizens to provide a humane, no kill Shelter for the stray and abandoned pet population of the Libby/Troy area.

More than 2,000 pets have been adopted and KPFL has facilitated the spay or neuter of nearly 5,000 pets.

Each animal that comes in to the Shelter is spayed or neutered and is up to date on vaccinations before leaving the Shelter.

The Shelter is located at 125 County Shop Road in Libby.

Anyone looking to adopt a pet is urged to go out to the Shelter and see the pets that are available.

Saturdays and Sundays the Shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and other times by appointment.

Volunteers are always needed for everything from walking dogs and playing with cats to cleaning their areas and feeding or any one of other jobs that arise from taking care of the pets.

Anyone interested can stop at the Shelter or call 293-KPFL.
