RATHDRUM — Senior Megan Rockwell had eight kills and three blocks, leading Sandpoint to a convincing 25-13, 25-18, 25-11straight-set sweep of Lakeland on Tuesday night in 4A North League volleyball action at Lakeland High School.

Kennedy Search added 21 assists, Hannah Neumann three service aces and Maddie Russo 21 digs for the Bulldogs (19-7, 4-0 4A IEL), who capped an undefeated regular season of league play.

The Bulldogs ran a lot of set plays and certain combinations, experimenting with a style of play called free ball, employed when a team knows the return of serve will be strong.

Sandpoint is at Coeur d’Alene on Thursday, gunning for the season sweep.

n JV’s remain undefeated

Lexi Riley and Maddie Slaton each tallied five kills, and Katie Glaeser added 14 digs to lead the Sandpoint JV to a 25-16, 25-16, 15-8 sweep of Lakeland.

The Bulldogs are still undefeated at the JV level, after suffering a handful of losses to varsity teams last weekend at the Crossover Classic.
