PREP VOLLEYBALL: Well-rounded Lumberjacks sweep past Timberlake

SPIRIT LAKE - Mariah Gladden had 19 kills and four digs and Kathy Epler added 31 assists as the St. Maries Lumberjacks defeated the Timberlake Tigers 25-17, 25-21, 29-27 in a nonleague match Tuesday night.
"I thought we played a well-rounded match," St. Maries coach Missy Asbury said. "I think we've worked really hard and are peaking at the right point."
Maddy McQueen had 15 digs, Katherine Floch four digs and one ace and Kerstin Auer two blocks for St. Maries (14-13), which travels to Orofino on Saturday for a Central Idaho League tri-match with the Maniacs and Grangeville.
Jessica Norlander had nine kills, Sydnie Malloy 12 assists, Lexi Posch seven kills and three aces and Cheyenne Gibson four kills, three digs and one block for Timberlake (14-11), which travels to Riverside today.
"St. Maries played well," Timberlake coach Michelle Garwood said. "We just couldn't respond and were kind of flat. We couldn't seem to get on our game, but to their credit, St. Maries played well."
Sandpoint d. Lakeland
RATHDRUM - Megan Rockwell had eight kills and three blocks and Kennedy Search added 21 assists as the Bulldogs beat the Hawks 25-13, 25-18, 25-10 in a 4A Inland Empire League match at Hawk Court.
Maddie Russo had 26 digs for Sandpoint (19-7, 4-0 4A IEL), which travels to Coeur d'Alene on Thursday.
Haley Rotchford had four kills and five digs, Morgan Landers six digs, Kacie Derby eight blocks and Erin Ogden 10 digs for Lakeland (2-17, 0-4), which hosts a tri-match with Priest River and Post Falls on Thursday.

PULLMAN - Sarah Ployhar had 13 assists for the Royals in a 25-14, 25-16, 25-17 win over the Eagles in a Mountain Christian League match.
Courtney Lawson had 10 aces and Liz Bookamer seven kills for North Idaho Christian (7-6, 6-5 MCL), which travels to House of the Lord in Priest River on Friday.
