STOLEN: Valuables lost, friends found
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 12 years, 6 months AGO
My name is Betty Turner. Last week my house was robbed and some disgusting person kicked in my back door during the middle of the day and took my husband’s wedding ring, my wedding ring, my diamond tennis bracelet which my husband purchased for me for our 50th wedding anniversary among other things. This has turned my world upside down especially the loss of my dear late husband’s wedding ring. Also, when someone has entered your home uninvited it makes you feel violated. But I will survive!
The reason for my writing is to let you know how much I appreciated the article you published last Thursday in The Press. This article has not led to finding my jewelry as of yet but it has allowed me to meet some very nice people. One of them was a man, George Houston, who offered to go with me to Sandpoint with his professional metal detector to look for my husband’s original lost wedding ring. Although after several hours of searching we did not find it, this complete stranger’s kindness really touched my heart!
Thank you so much for printing such a nice article. David Cole was so kind to me while he was here for the interview and I think he captured my story well. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it was a front-page article.
