Lipon's hat trick bests Chiefs

KAMLOOPS, British Columbia - JC Lipon scored three goals in the first 8 1/2 minutes and the Kamloops Blazers went on to a 5-1 win over the Spokane Chiefs on Friday night before 4,846 at Interior Savings Centre.

Liam Stewart scored Spokane's only goal, off feeds by Dylan Walchuk and Reid Gow, and the Chiefs' three-game win streak came to an end.

Eric Williams had 23 saves for Spokane.

The Chiefs (5-2) host Vancouver tonight at the Spokane Arena at 7.
