Surrounded by close family members and his wife of 23 years, Don Peterson, of Hauser, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at home after a brief battle with cancer.
Don was born May 1, 1936, in Garland, Utah. He lived an active and fulfilling life, connecting deeply with his close-knit family, traveling with his loved ones, and spending quality time with his wife, Lynn, at their lakeside home. A talented handyman, he loved working on projects around his home, camping with family and simply enjoying life. A respected and successful salesman, Don most recently worked for The Garage Door Center in Post Falls, retiring in 2010.
Don is survived by his wife, Lynn, at home; brothers, Darrell Peterson of Florence, Ariz., Kenny Peterson and sister-in-law Robin Peterson of Richland, Wash.; and Keith Peterson of Newman Lake, Wash.; sister Carol Freeman and brother-in-law Dean of Newman Lake, Wash.; daughter Becky Bauchman of Benton City, Wash.; sons, Donnie Peterson of Phoenix, Ariz., and Steve Peterson of Benson City; stepson Keith Erickson and wife Pam of Coeur d’Alene; stepdaughters, Shayla Bisher of Coeur d’Alene, Kelly Lagrou of Coeur d’Alene, and Valerie Huseman and son-in-law Kevin of Snoqualmie, Wash.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Louise Peterson of Richland; and brother and sister-in-law, Hal and Debbie Peterson of Seattle.
At Don’s request, there will be no services. Donations are requested to St. Vincent dePaul, Coeur d’Alene, or Hospice of North Idaho.
