NIC ROUNDUP: No. 7 Cards swept by No. 3 CSI

COEUR d'ALENE - Yang Yang had 12 kills and 10 digs for No. 7 North Idaho College in a 25-20, 25-23, 25-20 loss to No. 3 Southern Idaho on Friday night.
The win clinched at least a tie for the Scenic West Athletic Conference title for the Golden Eagles (23-1, 8-0), who with the win earned the right to host the Region 18 tournament at Twin Falls in two weeks.
Rosie Robinson had 13 digs and two aces, Brooklyn Bradbury and Allison Meehan 14 assists apiece, and Shelby Lausen three blocks for the Cardinals (18-4, 4-4), who host Utah State-Eastern on Thursday.
"I thought we played really well tonight," NIC coach Kandice Gregorak said. "We didn't get the win, but we played better than we have in a long time. We just need to learn to finish the match.
"We needed to eliminate the long runs. I am not upset at all. The girls played hard tonight. These next two weekends are crucial."

COEUR d'ALENE - Aubree Mercier had a goal and an assist for North Idaho College in a victory over Western Wyoming CC.
Emilee Cordon, Kellsi Parson, Ellie Engel, Elli Kiselica and Morgan Kuehl also scored for the Cardinals (9-3-1), who recorded five goals in the second half.
North Idaho College hosts the Washington State University club team on Sunday at noon.
