Burglary suspect Samuel Fetterhoff is no longer on the run.
The 22-year-old Coeur d'Alene man, who has been at large since Oct. 10 and wanted on a $100,000 warrant, turned himself in to the Kootenai County Jail on Thursday afternoon, according to sheriff's office records.
"(Fetterhoff) came into the (sheriff's department) and said he wanted to turn himself in," Kootenai County Sheriff's Lt. Stu Miller said. "We obliged his request and took him into custody. He said he didn't want to put his family through any more angst."
He was being held at the jail on Monday on $175,000 bond - $100,000 for two counts of burglary and $75,000 for probation violation.
According to Post Falls Police, Fetterhoff was allegedly involved in at least two daytime home burglaries. He fled from police on foot and escaped after a traffic stop on Oct. 10 in which the driver, James Edward Porter III, 22, was arrested.
Police had responded to a complaint that a front door in the 3600 block of Alfalfa Loop in Post Falls had been kicked in and property was missing from the home.
A short time later, officers received another complaint of a home that had been burglarized in the 800 block of nearby Stoneybrook Loop, where additional property was reported stolen.
Officers received information from neighbors stating that they had observed a small black car leave the area of the burglaries with two males inside.
Police located the vehicle in the area of 16th Avenue and Jag Street and conducted the traffic stop. Police are investigating whether Fetterhoff and Porter are tied to any other burglaries in the area.
