Coeur d'Alene Sting under-9 boys (United): The Sting lost to the Lake City U10 team 10-4. Kohrt Weber scored two goals, Miles Jones and Noah Janzen one each for the Sting.

Sting U10 girls Real: In Northwest League play on Saturday, the Sting fell to the visiting Sandpoint Strikers 2-0.

Sting U12 boys Ajax: The Sting beat the Columbia Basin Crushers 5-0 on Saturday. Ryan Bergsieker scored two goals and Jason Lukes, Josh Schriger and Denton Meijerink each scored once for the Sting. Merrick Bonar and Denton Meijerink each had an assist. Bennett Cunningham had two saves in posting the shutout in goal.

Sting U12 girls Arsenal: The Sting tied the Spokane Scotties 0-0 last Wednesday.

On Saturday the Sting beat the Cobra Tigers 3-0. Sarah Swider headed in the first goal with an assist from Maddie Morris. Erika Skindlov and Maddie Morris also had one goal each.

Sting U14 girls Roma: The Sting has gone 3-1-2 over the last two weeks.

Highlights include a 1-0 victory over the Spokane Foxes with a goal by Maurie Roth with an assist from Elaine Vedder. Madeline Hennig scored two goals against the Cheney Storm in a 2-0 victory.

Trisha McDonald had an assist to Kayla Fagan which resulted in a 1-1 tie with the Breakers (Andersson). Kayla Fagan and Trisha McDonald each had one goal as the Sting beat ASE-Boyd 2-0.

Idaho Thunder under-10 boys (Sater): The Thunder won its division in the Puget Sound Premier League by defeating the Spokane Pumas 03 Black 8-2 at River City Middle School. Devin Claflin scored a hat trick, Braden Ferreira scored two goals, and Cody Carvajal, Aiden Juntilla and Ayden Tweedy scored one each. Assists were by Andrew Ferreira, Braden Ferreira, Cody Carvajal and Devin Claflin. The Thunder outscored its opponents 56-6 this fall.

Thunder U10 boys (Johnson): The Thunder beat the Sting Sounders 5-3. Lance Gilmore, Koby Johnson, Logan Davis, Quinn Clovis and Caleb Calkins scored once each for the Thunder.

Thunder U11 boys (Halseth): The Thunder beat the Sting Inter (Meehan) 6-2. Tristan Delbridge scored a hat trick in the first half, as well as a fourth goal and an assist in the second half. Also In the second half the Thunder had a goal by Ben Blakely, and Jadyn Freeman had a bicycle kick assist that led to a goal by Gavin McLuskie, who also had an assist.

Thunder U13 boys (Gelnette/McLuskie): The Thunder beat ASE B99 Navy Krugg 6-0 in their first game Saturday morning, Oct. 13. Isaiah Higbee and Zack Nall each scored twice, Braden Claflin and Robby Butterfield scored once each, and Isaiah Higbee and Zack Nall teamed for the shutout in goal.

In the afternoon the Thunder beat ASE B99 Royal-United 3-0. Cody Bentley, Braden Claflin, and Zack Nall each had a goal, Caleb McLuskie had an assist, and Isaiah Higbee had the shutout in goal.

On Oct. 20, the Thunder beat FC Spokane B99 Grey Dickinson 5-4 in the morning with two goals being made by Cody Bentley. A goal each was made by Robby Butterfield and Johnny Stenberg. In the afternoon the Thunder tied 3 Rivers SC 99 Kahambwe 0-0. Isaiah Higbee and Zack Nall shared the shutout in goal.

On Oct. 21, the Thunder beat the Wentachee Fire B99 White-Wisen 8-1. Braden Claflin and Johnny Stenberg scored two goals each, and Jackson Ricks, Zack Nall and Caleb McLuskie each scored once.

Thunder U10 girls (Moate): The Thunder beat the Valley Thunder of Lewiston 10-0 on Oct. 13. Kindall Pickford scored a hat trick, Kaylee Moate and Kacie Barber both had two goals, and Tressa Mullan, Jade Torrence and Maya Arnold all scored once. Emily Ray earned the shutout in goal.

Thunder U14 girls (Foster/VanLeuven): The Thunder beat the Cheney Storm (Zakrkewski) 2-1 on Saturday. Melodee Skalskiy scored the first Thunder goal with an assist from Cheyenne Kleiner. The second goal was unassisted by Cheyenne Keliner. In the second game of the day, the Thunder lost 2-0 to FC Spokane 98 Grey Robles.

Sting U13 boys: The Sting beat the Columbia Basin Tigers 1-0 on Oct. 13. Tyler Mueller scored the lone goal with a header. The Sting then beat the Breakers B99 Chester 1-0 on Oct. 20. Colvin Dunteman scored the goal for the Sting.

Sting U10 girls (Timbers): The Timbers battled the ASE G02-Lightning team to a 1-1 tie on Saturday. Allison Thorsen scored the goal for the Sting.

Sting U13 Girls (Tottenham): The Sting won two games and tied one over the past weekend.

The Sting shut out the Spokane Foxes FC 99' Black 2-0. Annica Wilson scored off an assist from Megan Drake. Annica Wilson then provided the assist for Haley Gordon.

The Sting then tied the Cobra Wombats in a scoreless game. The Sting finished the weekend with a 1-0 win over the Spokane Foxes FC 99' White. Right defender Rylee Brown made the lone goal from outside the 18-yard box off a rebound from a deflected corner kick attempt.

Lakeland Nighthawks U10 boys (Mooney): The Nighthawks beat the Sandpoint Strikers (Christoferson) 3-2 in Northwest League play Saturday at Betty Kiefer Elementary in Rathdrum. Wade Scott scored two goals, Ammon Munyer one for the Nighthawks, and Dawson Marsh and Ethan Garitone had assists.

Later Saturday, the Nighthawks beat the Sting United 10-4 at Betty Kiefer Elementary. Ammon Munyer, Dawson Marsh and Ethan Garitone each scored twice for the Thunder, and Wade Scott, James Kelly, Josiah Shields and Ron Rojas each scored once. Abe Munyer had an assist for the Thunder, who lead the league with an 8-0 record.

Nighthawks U11 girls (Higbee): The Nighthawks beat FC Spokane (Swoboda) 3-2 in WSYSA District 6 girls Umbro Division play Oct. 13 at Betty Kiefer Elementary. Zoe Potter, Kaylie Higbee and Amy Palmer scored for the Nighthawks.

On Oct. 20, the Nighthawks tied the SSC Shadow Elite G01 Cooper 3-3 at Plantes Ferry Park in Spokane. Zoe Potter, Makenna Smith and Olivia Hammond scored for the Nighthawks.

Sting U11 girls Timbers: The Sting beat FC Spokane 5-3. Zoey Cox and Jordan Roth each scored twice and Kyla Currie scored once. In the second game the Sting lost 2-1 to the SSC Shadow.

Sting U12 girls Newcastle: The Sting won both games last weekend in the Tri-Cities. The Sting beat Hermiston, Ore., 5-2. Mollie Hamon scored two goals and Kasidy Kirking, Isabellea McAfee and Jordyn Nowoj each scored once. Marlee Lambert had an assist.

In Game 2 the Sting beat Union County 1-0 on a goal by Tess McPhilomy, assisted by Marlee Lambert.

JUNIOR TACKLE

* The Post Falls Ducks defeated the Post Falls Vandals 25-12 in sixth-grade play.

Shilo Morgan had three touchdown runs and Tyler Smart had one touchdown run for the Ducks, and Shilo Morgan and Caleb Albert led the team with 13 tackles each.

Wyatt Shelly, Joel Sovereign, Tyler Smart, Jake Rutherford and Casey Young had 10 tackles each. The Ducks racked up 537 yards rushing.

* The Coeur d'Alene Jaguars and Post Falls Saints tied in fifth-grade play. Dylan Brum scored on a pass from Ryan Rios in the first quarter for the Jaguars.

* The Rams beat the Raiders 27-8 in a battle of unbeaten eighth-grade teams. Brody Lundblad scored on a fumble return for the Rams, and Willie Goodwin returned an interception for a score.

The Rams play Saturday night at 6 p.m. at Lake City High School for the league championship against the undefeated Vikings.

* The Coeur d'Alene Vikings defeated the Coeur d'Alene Chargers 27-26 in eighth-grade play Saturday at Person Field. The win puts the Vikings into the championship game against the Coeur d'Alene Rams on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Lake City High School.

SWIMMING

CAST: Twenty-eight swimmers from the Coeur d'Alene Area Swim Team competed in a meet in Spokane on Saturday. The meet was a developmental meet designed to introduce new swimmers to competition and kick off the new season for experienced team members.

Twelve CAST Swimmers competed in their first meet: Peter Bukowski, Rylan Butera, Garit Davis, Andy Johnson, Alahna Lien, Sam Owens, Jack Pierce, Micah Sharples, Luke Snyders, Jolie Ward, Victoria White, and Emma Wilson. Three other CAST swimmers, Dallyce Christiansen, Sage Forsting and Kailee Guerdette, who have all transferred from other teams, competed for the first time with CAST.

Notable swimmers who dropped time in all three of their events include Henry Matous, Taylor Johnson, Matt Hoffman, PJ Gates, Nicole Cicero, Dallyce Christiansen and Makena Smith.

CAST will participate in Moscow on Oct. 26-28 for the annual Trick or Treat swim meet.
