Warner G. (Slim) Dossey, 93

Warner G. (Slim) Dossey passed away Oct. 23, 2012, at Ivy Court in Coeur d’Alene. He was born in Brownsville, Ky., on Nov. 4, 1918.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara, and is survived by a daughter, Sharon of Coeur d’Alene and a son, James Dossey and Arlene Maher of Post Falls; three granddaughters, Angela Schwindt of Eugene, Ore., Paulene Hakala of Coeur d’Alene and Patrice Maher of Tri Cities; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Savannah Schwindt; and many friends in the North Idaho area.

Slim was an entertainer for more than 75 years and a former member of the Sons of the Pioneers, and a member of the Western Swing Hall of Fame. Slim also worked out of Nashville from the Grand Ole Opry touring with a lot of big names.

Thank you to all the staff at Ivy Court for his care. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice of North Idaho.

A celebration of Slim’s life will be held at a later date.
