JUNIOR TACKLE

The Rams defeated the Rams 28-12 last Saturday night at Lake City High School to capture the eighth-grade championship in Coeur d'Alene Junior Tackle.

The Rams scored first on a pass to Brody Lundblad that covered 40 yards. The Vikings mounted a long drive with a powerful running game to come back and tie the score at 6. The Rams came right back to score on a Dawson Schramn touchdown to take a 12-6 lead into halftime.

With 5 minutes to go in the third quarter the Rams scored again on a run from Matt Duchow, and Brody Lundblad added the extra point to give the Rams a 20-6 lead. The Rams' Izzy Hadden forced a fumble and Rivers Johnson recovered, which led to a 30-yard pass to Jacob Knudson followed by a 10-yard touchdown pass to Willie Goodwin. The extra point was good, making the score 28-6.

The Vikings scored on an inventive "ruskie" guard counter play with 2 minutes to go for the final score.

The Rams will go on to play in the quad state championship in Spokane on Nov. 10th. They finish their Junior Tackle career at 29-2 for the four years.

* Dylan Paine rushed for three touchdowns and the Post Falls Seahawks beat the previously unbeaten Spirit Lake Tigers 20-16 to win the fifth-grade league championship in Coeur d'Alene Junior Tackle.

The Tigers took a 16-12 lead into the half. The Seahawks came down on the opening drive of the third quarter to take a 20-16 lead and never looked back.

Dylan Paine finished with 21 rushing touchdowns on the season.

SELECT SOCCER

Coeur d'Alene Sting under-11 boys (Bayern): The Sting lost 6-3 to SSC Shadow Maradona on Oct. 13. Sting goals were scored by Cameron Dance, Tyler Shaw and Jacob Janzen, with assists from Jacob Janzen.

On Oct. 20 the Sting Bayern beat the Breakers Higdon 9-2. Sam Anderson scored five goals, Caden Hess two, and CAmeron Dance and Jackson Henkle scored once each. Assists came from Lance Riley, Paul Wineinger, Jacob Janzen and Ty Shaw.

The Sting Bayern lost 6-3 to the SSC Shadow Baggio on Oct. 23. Sting goals were scored by Sam Anderson, Jacob Janzen and Braden Jackson, with assists by Sam Anderson (2) and Cameron Dance.

Thunder U10 girls: The Thunder went 10-0 and won the Puget Sound Premier League Division 2.

Last Saturday, the Thunder beat SYSA United 4-0. Kaylee Moate scored two goals, Isabella Lawson and Gracie Ritchart one each.

On Sunday, the Thunder beat ASE G03 Tri- Cities 4-2. Kendall Pickford scored two goals, Ashlyn Maag and Kaycie Barber one each.

Also Sunday, the Thunder beat ASE G03-Almquist Tri-Cities 5-1. Kaylee Moate scored a hat trick and Kendall Pickford scored twice.

Sting U11 Inter boys: The Sting beat the Sandpoint Strikers-Giese 5-2 on Sunday. Kyler Sorensen started the game off with the first goal assisted by Drake Prohaska, followed by Christopher Swider making the second goal assisted by Diego McClure. Diego McClure made the third goal which was assisted by Drake Prohaska. Garrett Noordam scored the fourth goal and Drake Prohaska scored the final goal for the game. Jacob Overoye had six saves in goal.

Sting U10 girls Timbers: The Timbers lost2-1 to the ASE G02-Lightning of Kennewick, Wash. Chloe Miller scored for the Sting.

Sting U13 boys: The Sting beat the FC Spokane B99 Grey Slack BU13 4-1 on Saturday. Kieran Graham scored all four goals for the Sting.

Sting U9 boys (United): The Sting defeated VYSA U10 6-4. Miles Jones- scored four goals, Noah Jantzen two for the Sting.

Sting U9 boys Sounders: The Sting lost 5-3 to VYSA 5-3 Saturday. Walker Jump, Joseph Sarkis and Tyler Allred scored once each for the Sting.

Idaho Thunder U10 boys (Johnson): The Thunder beat Pullman 4-1. Koby Johnson scored two goals, Quinn Clovis and Caleb Calkins one each, and Logan Davis had two assists.

Thunder U10 boys Sater: The Thunder won its fifth straight tournament championship at the SYSA 3v3 Jambooree over the weekend. The Thunder split into two groups, one being called Manchester United and the other The Avengers. Manchester United defeated the Destroyers 10-2, the Wizards 8-2 and the Blue Ninjas 19-1, earning them a spot in the championship.

The Avengers defeated the Wizards 9-2, the Destroyers 3-1 and the BlackHawks 15-0, earning them a spot in the championship against Manchester United. In that game Manchester United squeaked by the Avengers 7-5.

Thunder U11 boys (Halseth): The Thunder beat the Spokane Shadow 4-3. Gavin McLuskie scored two goals and Cameron Calabretto also scored two goals, one on a penalty kick.

Thunder U14 girls (Foster/VanLeuven): The Thunder beat SSC Shadow Elite G98 Bastin 3-0. Goals were scored by Isis Rich, Cierra Foster and Katie Knaack. Campbell Lee and Emily Parson teamed for the shutout in goal.

On Sunday the Thunder beat the Sabers Trevakis 6-0 win. Katie Knaack and Melodee Skalskiy each scored twice, and Cierra Foster and Isis Rich scored once. Melodee Skalskiy and Katie Knaack each had assists. Emily Parson notched her fourth shutout of the season in goal.

Sting U11 girls (Timbers): The Sting Lost 4-2 to the Sandpoint Strikers. Liberty Croutch scored both goals for the Timbers.
