A 24-year-old Libby man has been charged with felony arson after a nearly two-month investigation by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

Marcus Wayne Light is alleged to have set fire to the McGrade Center on July 8, causing roughly $73,000 worth of damage to a Child Protective Services office.

Light was already incarcerated in the Lincoln County Detention Center on unrelated misdemeanor traffic violation charges when he was served the warrant for the new charge. He is being held on a $250,000 bond pending his initial court appearance.

The fire is still under investigation, and anyone with any information about the crime is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at (406) 293-4112.
