Alice Fay VanMeter, 64, passed away at home in Athol on Sept. 2, 2012. Alice was born in Lakeview, Ore., on Oct. 4, 1947, to Dennis and Lillian Byrns.

Alice met Fred VanMeter in Crescent City, Calif., in 1975. He was a guitarist and she was a singer. They were married in Reno, Nev., on June 12, 1977. In 1994, the family moved to Arkoma, Okla. (Fort Smith, Ark.) where they lived for 18 years. After Fred retired in 2010, they moved to Idaho in 2011, where they have resided ever since.

Although Alice worked as a CNA for many years, she was most proud of being a mother. She adored her family and was a loving mother and a wonderful wife. She loved music and was a beautiful singer. She also enjoyed camping and the outdoors. Alice was a born again Christian and was a member of Living Water Fellowship in Rathdrum.

Alice joined her parents, Dennis and Lillian Byrns in Heaven.
