Seven Whitefish High School students have been selected to participate in the Montana High School Association All-State Band, Chorus and Orchestra Festival.

Choir students are Jon Jacobs and Sean Acton. Orchestra students include Connor Gray, Rebecca Holdhusen, Annika Gordon, Maya Gordon and Brittany Barnes.

Students tried out for the spots last spring. In October they will travel to Great Falls to participate in the festival. The musical groups are made up of freshman through seniors.

Choral director Nicole Sanford said it’s an honor for students who make the cut from those all over the state.

Students will soon be rehearsing the music they will perform in Great Falls with their respective teachers.

“They have to be ready by that day when they’ll try out again to make sure they’ve done their homework,” Sanford said. “They’ll go through a grueling two days of practicing from morning to night before they get to perform the concert.”
