Stumptown Players, the community theater group, will hold public auditions Sept. 16 for its next production, “Kimberly Akimbo.”

Tryouts will be held at 6 p.m. in the FVCC Theatre in the Arts and Technology Building. Enter by the east door.

“Kimberly Akimbo” is a hilarious and heartwarming story about a teenager with a rare condition that causes her body to age faster than it should. Copies of the play will be available for review in the Whitefish Community Library.

Characters include a woman age 60 to 70 to play a 16 year-old-girl, a man to play a 16-year-old, and two women and one man in their 30s to 40s.

Performances are set for Nov. 8-10 and 15-17 at the KM Theatre in the historic KM Building in Kalispell.

"Stumptown Players is excited to be returning to the charming KM Theatre, which is a perfect venue for this funny and touching play," said Jim Mohn, a Stumptown Players founding member, actor and director. "Kalispell, Whitefish and all of the Flathead Valley have supported our productions so enthusiastically, and we look forward to entertaining audiences again this fall."

The 3-year-old acting troupe has entertained sold-out audiences at the O’Shaughnessy Center during the last three summers, most recently with the comedy “Looking.”
