Bicyclist injured in Moses Lake Wednesday

MOSES LAKE — A bicyclist was sent to Samaritan Healthcare in Moses Lake Wednesday afternoon after he allegedly struck a vehicle.

Douglas Skane, 56, of Moses Lake, was cycling westbound on West Broadway Avenue.

Skane then attempted to turn left onto North Dogwood Street around 6:45 p.m., according to Moses Lake police reports.

He attempted to cross from the westbound bicycle lane into the center turn lane where he reportedly struck a vehicle in the inside lane of Broadway.

The vehicle, a 2005 Dodge Neon, was driven by Timothy L. Paulson, 43, of Moses Lake.

Skane was rushed to Samaritan where he was admitted with what police described as “numerous non-life-threatening issues.”

As of this morning, a hospital official said Thursday morning that Skane was admitted and being held in satisfactory condition.
