ONTARIO, Ore. - First year head coach Natalie Coulston guided the Big Bend Community College (BBCC) to its first league win of the season at Treasure Valley Community College Wednesday.

It took the Vikings fives sets (20-25, 25-23, 18-25, 25-20, 20-18) to turn back the Chukars, but Coulston said she was happy with the way the team performed.

"I thought the girls played great," she said. "Taylor Varneau served a great game ... but it was a total team effort that enabled us to pull out the win."

BBCC attacked the net the entire match and finished with 44 kills. The Lady Vikings also had five serving aces and 67 defensive digs.

"We have a big tournament in Walla Walla this weekend so I hope this gives us some momentum," Coulston said. "But we will need to keep playing as a team ... everyone needs to contribute for us to be successful."
