Mary Catherine Greeno, 84

Mary Catherine Greeno, age 84, of Coeur d’Alene passed away Sept. 7, 2012, at LaCrosse Health and Rehabilitation Facility in Coeur d’Alene. She was born March 3, 1928, in Sanborn, N.D., to William and Lillian (Altenburg) Lenz.

Mary Catherine grew up in Sanborn and graduated from Sanborn High School. A short time later she met Gerald Greeno and they were married in Sanborn on Oct. 1, 1945. During the late forties and early fifties they traveled around farming in North Dakota and Nebraska until settling in Coeur d’Alene in 1954 where they raised their two children Dale and Darlene.

In her younger years she enjoyed woodworking. She also enjoyed quilting, sewing, embroidering and was also a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. Most of all, Mary Catherine loved being a homemaker and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald; her parents; three brothers: Marvin Lenz, Donald Lenz and Bill Lenz; and one sister, Delores Frostad.

Mary Catherine is survived by her son Dale (Carol) Greeno, her daughter Darlene Greeno; brother Clifford (Darlene) Lenz; sister-in-law Enie Lenz; brother-in-law Walt Frostad and numerous nieces and nephews.

Viewing will begin at 2 p.m. with Funeral Service beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Coeur d’Alene followed by Graveside Service at Riverview Cemetery.
