NIC ROUNDUP: Cardinal men falter in 2nd half

POWELL, Wyo. - North Idaho College's Louis Williams and Jimmy Chambers scored in the first half, but three unanswered goals in the second half helped Northwest College rally past the Cardinals 4-2 in men's soccer action Friday.

Tanner Jones had 12 saves for NIC (1-4-0), which faces Salt Lake CC today in Powell.

"We came out and played hard, but we didn't take care of business in the first half," NIC coach Ken Thompson said. "If we capitalize on all our opportunities in the first half, it's a different story in the second half."

NIC wins twice at CSI tourney

TWIN FALLS - Fourth-ranked NIC picked up another couple of victories on Friday, whipping ninth-ranked Miami-Dade 25-21, 25-15, 25-14 and then beating Laramie County Community College 25-14, 25-20, 25-17 at the STARR Corp tournament.

Against Miami-Dade, HayleeMae Dennis totaled nine kills, four blocks, nine digs and two aces for NIC, now 9-0. Brooklyn Bradbury had 18 assists, Marissa Verduci nine kills.

Against Laramie CCC, Bradbury had 11 assists, Yang Yang eight kills, Kaitlyn Molloy five blocks and Verduci six digs.

"We are serving tough, passing well and making fewer errors than other teams, which is why we are able to be such a competitive team," NIC coach Kandice Gregorak said.
