RATHDRUM - Kylie Curtis had 33 kills, 39 assists, seven aces and 21 digs on the day for Lake City, which finished second in the 22-team Lakeland Invitational.

Colville defeated Lake City 25-21, 25-17 to win the tournament for the second straight year.

"I thought they played really well," Lake City coach Bret Taylor said of his team. "They kind of moved into figuring out how to play intensely and playing hard through some struggles. I'm impressed with them. They battled hard with Colville, who is very experienced and very skilled and we were able to hang with them. Colville can bang the ball and also play ball control, and I was pleased with our defensive effort."

Kaity Widmyer had 25 digs, Brittany Gay 59 assists, Haile Watson and Madi Farrell seven blocks each and Natalie Taylor 22 kills for Lake City, which hosts Ferris on Monday.

Danielle Failor had 35 kills and 15 blocks, Brenna Meehan 89 assists and 21 kills, Jamie Brewer 14 aces and Sydney Wiggins 32 digs and 24 kills for Post Falls, which finished third. Post Falls defeated Sandpoint 25-18, 27-25 in the third-place match. Sandpoint finished fourth.

"I think today was a great day for us," Post Falls coach Willow Hanna said. "Tournaments are a good way to work through things. We improved throughout the day and finished the tournament strong."

Lewiston won the silver division. Cheney won the bronze division.
