Bulldog volleyball team fourth at Lakeland Invitational

RATHDRUM — Kennedy Search tallied 119 set assists and 12 aces, helping lead Sandpoint to a 4-2 record and fourth place finish among 22 teams at the Lakeland Invitational on Saturday.

The Bulldogs (7-4) beat Deer Park 25-13, 25-9 and Reardon 25-19, 25-23, before falling 25-15, 25-14 to Lake City in their third match. They bounced back to down Pullman 25-23, 25-19 and Lewis and Clark 25-19, 21-25 and 15-10 to earn a spot in the 3rd/4th place match, where they were downed 25-18, 27-25 by Post Falls.

“We had some great moments where it felt like we were playing Sandpoint volleyball,” described head coach Karen Alsager. “Then we had some dips where we weren’t competing.”

Hannah Neumann led the Bulldogs with 25 kills, Maddie Russo with 56 digs and Emma Liband seven blocks during the one-day tournament.

Sandpoint is at Moscow tonight, invading the Bear Den for the first 4A North match of the season.
