Donna Joyce Jones, 76, passed away on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at North Valley Hospital.

Donna was born on Nov. 12, 1935, in Marcel, Minn., to William and Olga (Bade) Johnston.

On April 20, 1952, Donna married the love of her life, Edward Jones Jr. They were blessed with 59 years and five children together before Edward’s death in August of 2011.

“Our family finds great peace in the fact that the two of them have been reunited in Heaven.”

Donna was a member of Eastern Star for over 40 years. She loved going to garage sales with friends and collecting bells. Her daughter Debbie traveled extensively, helping her to collect bells from all over the world. She also enjoyed ceramics and knitting.

Donna’s sense of humor will be missed by all; her grandchildren were the light of her life and she treasured her time with them watching them grow up. She was an amazing mother and homemaker. We were truly blessed to have her for our mother. She was a great cook, and made the best homemade bread. We will miss Christmas gathering at her small home which was overcrowded with family.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; parents, William and Olga Johnston; one brother, and two sisters.

She is survived by her children, Cathy Jones-Aastrom, Debbie Melby and Mike Jones, all of Columbia Falls, Gregg Jones of Wisconsin, and Janice Jones of Williams, Ariz.; her brother, Jim Johnston of Texas; sisters, Audrey Nelson and Mary Hafeman of Bigfork, Minn.; special sister-in-law, Myrt Hart; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one on the way, due in October; many nieces and nephews; and many people who knew and loved her.

The family suggests that memorials be made in Donna’s name to North Valley Hospital. We cannot thank them enough for their loving care of our dear mother.

A celebration of Donna’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15, at Columbia Mortuary.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Columbia Mortuary.
