RINK: Great way to open

Just a post-script to Brian Walker’s excellent article, “Back on the ice,” that appeared on the front page in this past Sunday’s edition of the Coeur d’Alene Press. The article gave great insight to the emerging sport of sled hockey and a great report on Frontier Ice Arena’s grand opening event that took place the day before.

Those wishing more information about sled hockey can contact Gary Duvall, founder of the Inland Northwest Disabled Veterans Sports Association (INDVSA), at (208) 935-6228 or email him at garyd@indvsa.org.

Readers who would like to know more about the many other skating (and non-skating) programs, activities, events and services offered/scheduled at the Frontier Ice Arena can call (208) 765-4423 or go to the website at www.frontiericearena.org.

Finally, on behalf of the Kootenai Youth Recreation Organization’s (KYRO’s) board of directors and a whole host of KYRO volunteers and supporters, a heartfelt “thanks” to everyone in the community who attended the grand opening and/or had a hand in making it the truly fun, tremendously successful, family-oriented event we had hoped for. It was a hoot!
