ATHEISTS: Don't miss final chapter
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 12 years, 7 months AGO
In regard to the letter written by Dina Fish under the headline “ATHEISTS: The light is shining,” I would like to comment that you have shed light on only one-half of the story. Yes, God did create us in His image, and He created us perfect. However He created us with the choice to be obedient or not. Since we, mankind, chose to be disobedient, sin came into the world and as a result we are separated from God because He cannot condone sin.
Therefore, the rest of the story is that homosexuality, atheism, adultery, etc. is all sin, and the Bible tells us that God hates sin. The part of your letter that says God loves US is true, but again you must read the rest of the story to get the whole truth.
We only have to read John 3:16 to get the whole story. It reads, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” Note that it says He who “believeth in Him shall not perish.” Perish in the Bible means that we will spend eternity separated from God, which is Hell. Therefore we will not all go to the same place when we pass away as you stated, but some will perish and some will have everlasting life. Only those who believe in His Son, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for our sins, can enter into everlasting life with Him.
And your last comment regarding “judge not lest ye be judged,” we as Christians are not judging you or anyone else. God is the final judge. We will all stand before Him when we pass away, and at that time He will pass judgment, and it is then that we will either be sent away to perish or received into eternal life with Him.
While you are alive it is not too late, but you must make that choice before you pass away. I trust that you and all those who have not yet made that choice will open your Bibles, especially to The Gospel of John, and read “The rest of the story.”
