Youths shoot dog with pellet gun

A Liberty Street resident reported to the Kalispell Police Department that child neglect was ongoing at a nearby residence, where a 2- or 3-year-old girl wandered outside alone on a regular basis after her parents use drugs and pass out. A different person had called earlier to report methamphetamine use at the same residence.

An officer had to use pepper spray on a dog after investigating a report that the animal was vicious. The officer said the dog was “very aggressive.”

A Greatview Drive resident reported her dog got loose and neighboring youths shot at it with a pellet gun, and that when she took the dog to the vet she discovered there were pellets in the dog’s liver.

A person was reported lurking around a Ninth Avenue West home where someone had recently been leaving strange letters.

A man was arrested after threatening his landlord with a switchblade knife on Ninth Avenue West after offering to help them move.
