HOUSING: Good financing awaits
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 13 years, 7 months AGO
Your Aug. 28 edition included a story, “The Pain of population growth in Post Falls,” reporting that, come the end of September, homebuyers in Post Falls will no longer be eligible for zero-down mortgages from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
There are alternatives. Right now, for example, there are more than 1,000 active loans insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) in Post Falls. This should be no surprise since the down-payment for an FHA mortgage can be as low as 3.5 percent and, even better, you don’t need a triple platinum credit score.
So, if buyers are looking for a smart, safe, affordable alternative to USDA, they might want to take a look at FHA.
