Robert “Bob” Hulick, 79, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, of complications from Parkinson’s disease. He leaves his wife of 57 years, Maxine; three daughters, Terry, Sharon and Cathy; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Carol; two granddaughters, Kate and Rhiannon; two brothers, Bill and Ray; and many wonderful relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter, Michelle.

Bob was born in Los Angeles, Calif., and moved to Spokane at age 8 years old. He was a 1950 graduate of Lewis and Clark High School.

He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1955. He was stationed at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., and spent his enlistment working as a C-130 aircraft mechanic at the Test Pilot School and as an aircraft control inspector. He continued working as an aircraft mechanic after his enlistment ended and was employed with Convair in Palmdale, Calif.

In 1965, Bob moved his family to Idaho where they spent a year living in Spirit Lake before settling down in Coeur d’Alene. He spent the remainder of his career working as a USPS postal clerk. He received a USPS retirement award after completing 41 years and 11 months of government service.

Bob will always be remembered as an easy-going, gentle man with a terrific sense of humor — he especially enjoyed telling not-so-great post office jokes. He loved old cars, Hawaiian shirts, the Big Bands, World War II movies and his family. He will be forever missed.
